While wandering around my dad’s property over the holidays we came across these two giant trees that had been uprooted during a recent storm. I felt bad for the trees but was also overcome with a child-like excitement to explore them. Poppy loved playing in the trees with us. It brought back such vivid memories of so many wonder-filled walks in the forest by my cottage as a little girl. It was beautiful.

Pop and I have been enjoying our week with Gamp and Gram. The past few days we have woken up to snow. When I opened the curtains this morning Poppy looked outside and said “Santa coming soon” then told me that “the reindeer  and the buffalo are getting ready to fly so they can help Santa”. This afternoon we were again talking about Christmas, how on Christmas Eve we can’t forget to leave some carrots for the reindeer because they get so hungry flying all over the world. Poppy quickly added in “and the BUFFALO!” Yes Poppy and the buffalo….Santa doesn’t go anywhere without his flying buffalo.
