First of all, let me apologize for my absence over the past 5 days. Now let me tell you what we have been up to.

Kegan finally wrote the 3rd CFA exam that he has  been studying for, for the past 6 months….I’m so happy to finally have my husband back!!

AlsoI turned 33 on Monday along with my twin Danie

annnnd Kegan turned 33 on Tuesday!

I started my Birthday morning off with a little yoga while listening to Poppy and Kegan putter about in the kitchen making me a surprise birthday breakfast. I remember smiling to myself thinking how lucky I was and what a perfect Birthday morning it was….then I heard Kegan say “shit” he didn’t shout it but I knew something was wrong. I kept listening for a few seconds so as not to seem like I was being overly nosey but then I heard Poppy say Mommy and I could hear there was a commotion. I called down to see if everything was o.k, Kegan simply said “NO” I jumed up and started down the stairs, Poppy was running towards me. I shouted to the kitchen asking what was wrong. Kegan then told me he had started a fire…a grease fire. I’m not 100% sure what happened next. I told Poppy to stay back and ran to help. There was black butter covering my kitchen floor and my sink was on fire. WOW. Talk about a relaxing morning lol. We got the fire out without any damage to the house and after mopping the floor about 3 times I managed to get most of the butter up. Kegan sufferd a few small burns to his hand but after a big long family hug and a bowl of ice water to soak his hand in he insisted on going back to work and making me the breakfast he had set out to make. About 30 min later I was sitting with my family opening gifts and eating a wonderful breakfast of eggs benny. I love my husband….what a morning. I couldn’t help but wonder if the fire was a sign of the year to come…you know, some sort of bad omen. I really hope not. I am choosing to believe 33 is going to be a great year, regardless of how it started.

That evening I am happy to say was far less eventfull. For our Birthday Danie and I celebrated by having a small group of friends over for a bbq of mouth watering beef brisket tacos…they were soooo good. My amazing friends T and Chris supplied some awesome dips and some to die for dulce de leche coconut creamsicles for dessert. They were the perfect ending to a perfect night.

*note: I will be posting the recipe for those super tasty tacos this comming Tuesday, to kick off ibbyandpops summer of TACO TUESDAYS!!

Comments and positivity are always welcomed, however I am currently not accepting complaints or criticisms.
